GARETH TAYLOR PREVIEW

Gareth Taylor says Laia Aleixandri could be in contention to start against Leicester this weekend.

He said: [Laia’s] a possible starter,” he revealed.

“We’ll have to manage her in the right way, since the last international break she got injured with Spain and we weren’t able to use her in the last run of games before this break.

“We’ll have to get these next four games right so she’s in the best place.

“She’s been able to train with us for the last two weeks so we have got the right work into her which is good because we can be in control of her physical capabilities rather than losing her to internationals.”

LAST TIME OUT

Our last game before the international break saw us overcome Hammarby with a 2-1 victory in Sweden.

Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw fired City ahead just after the half hour mark before Ellen Wangerheim drew Hammarby level shortly after the break.

Shaw scored again on 52 minutes to see us secure our place in the competition’s knockout stage of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

PREVIOUS MEETING

Our last competitive encounter with Leicester saw City dominate play as we held out for a 2-0 win.

Despite endless chances, Taylor’s team were unfortunate to be level as we entered the final 10 minutes.

But our resilience shone through as late goals from Lauren Hemp and Chloe Kelly saw City snatch all three points on home soil.

TV COVERAGE

The game is not available to watch on TV in the United Kingdom, but is available to watch on CITY+.
