NICK CUSHING PREVIEW
The interim boss provided a squad update ahead of our trip to Pride Park. Cushing confirmed Rebecca Knaak will not be available but Aoba Fujino could return to the fold on Saturday.
“Rebecca [Knaak] won’t be fit but Aoba [Fujino] will be,” began Cushing.
“Everyone’s available bar the long term, Lauren Hemp [and] Alex Greenwood [are] both out. All the team are on the pitch.
“I don’t know the complete details [of Hemp and Greenwood’s injuries], but I think they have a desire before the end of the season [to be back playing] but I’m not confirming that.
“Alex is on the grass, which is a huge positive. Lauren has a huge desire to be in the team before the end of the season, but we just have to trust our medical staff.”
PREVIOUS MEETING
City suffered a narrow 2-0 loss to Chelsea in our previous meeting.
Second-half goals from Mayra Ramirez and Guro Reiten helped the Londoners to the Barclays Women’s Super League success at Stamford Bridge.
LAST TIME OUT
The Blues booked our place into the Adobe Women’s FA Cup semi-finals last time out with a 2-0 win over Aston Villa at the Joie Stadium.
After the first half ended goalless, strikes from Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw and Jess Park following the interval helped secure our spot in the last-four of the historic competition.
