Andrée Jeglertz preview
The boss will speak to the media in a press conference at 14:30 (UK) on Friday 4 September.
You can watch it live on mancity.com and our official app but don’t worry if you miss it, as we’ll have video and written recaps shortly afterwards.
Previous meeting
Birmingham are new to the WSL this campaign after finishing last term as champions of WSL2.
However, we did face them last season - in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.
Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw got an early goal that proved to be enough for the eventual tournament winners that day, but Birmingham made for very tricky foe at St Andrew’s.
Last time out
The last time City played competitively, we were completing an historic domestic double at Wembley.
We thrashed Brighton 4-0 in the FA Cup final to add to our Barclays Women’s Super League title and wrap up a dream of a debut campaign for boss Andrée Jeglertz.
City have obviously taken to the pitch throughout pre-season, with testing friendlies against Fiorentina, Arsenal, Barcelona and Manchester United in recent weeks.
TV listings
The game is currently available to view in the UK on Sky Sports+.
Should it be broadcast anywhere else around the world, this will be reflected on livesoccertv.com.
