Kick-off time confirmed for 2024/25 FA Cup final

WHEN AND WHERE

We take on the Eagles in the final of the 2024/25 FA Cup on Saturday 17 May, with the game scheduled for kick-off at 16:30 (UK) at Wembley Stadium.

The game will be shown live in the UK on ITV 1, ITV X, STV Scotland and STV Player, as well as BBC One, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website.

PEP GUARDIOLA PREVIEW

On the challenge of facing Palace, Guardiola said: “They are a fantastic team and they have had a good season.

“Of course we have to perform well. We travel to London and we will try to win the title.

“It was a good performance when we last played them. Apart from 0-2 at the beginning, we won in the end.”

After missing out on lifting the trophy last season Pep said he hopes to bring FA Cup glory for the supporters. He said: “When we are here we want to lift the trophy. Last year we were disappointed with our performance. To win the trophy you have to be there. 

“We want to win for our fans. The guys who travel, I want to say thank you for coming to London.

“Winning is much better than losing, but last year we came into having won four in a row and maybe our mind was not perfect. But one year later we are there again.”

Team news

City boss Pep Guardiola has made five changes for Saturday’s 2025 FA Cup final against Crystal Palace.

Stefan Ortega, Nico O’Reilly, Savinho, Omar Marmoush and Jeremy Doku all come into the starting line-up for the Wembley showpiece.

From the side that began last weekend’s goalless draw away to Southampton, Ederson and Phil Foden all revert to the bench.

Mateo Kovacic (injury), Rico Lewis and James McAtee are absent from the matchday squad but Claudio Echeverri is named amongst the substitutes.

PREVIOUS MEETING

Our last FA Cup encounter with Palace came back in the fourth round in 2017, where we cruised to a 3-0 victory at Selhurst Park thanks to goals from Yaya Toure, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane.

Our latest encounter in the Premier League came just last month, where Pep’s side secured a 5-2 victory at the Etihad Stadium. The reverse fixture last December ended in a 2-2 draw in London.

LAST TIME OUT

We reached the final of the competition after a superb 2-0 semi-final victory over Nottingham Forest, with Rico Lewis and Josko Gvardiol striking in each half.

In league terms, we were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw against relegated Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium last time out.

As for Palace, they also produced an impressive semi-final showing, defeating Aston Villa 3-0 to progress into the showpiece occasion. An Eberechi Eze goal and an Ismaila Sarr brace did the damage on the night.

In league terms, Palace beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 away on Sunday thanks to an Eze brace.
