Having beat three of the biggest names in the competition in the shape of Liverpool, Reading and Southampton, City will be full of confidence heading into the knockout match.

When and where?

City will travel to Birmingham for the tie, which is set to be played at Aston Villa’s Villa Park at 7pm on Wednesday 22 February.

Villa’s cup route and form

Who to look out for

The key man for David Hughes’ Aston Villa youngsters may well be forward Kelsey Mooney. The 18-year-old has scored nine goals in 17 matches during this season’s U18 Premier League and will be sure to keep Joel Latibeaudiere and Ed Francis on their toes.

City’s eligible players

Alongside City’s regular stars in the U18 Premier League, a number of Premier League 2 regulars are also available for selection in this tournament. That means the likes of Brahim Diaz, Lukas Nmecha, Sadou Diallo and Demeaco Duhaney are likely to feature.

City’s proud statistics

City’s only loss across all competitions at U18 level since November 2015 was the second leg of last year’s FA Youth Cup final against Chelsea.

City have won the U18 Premier League North and as you can read here, their statistics are incredible.

Other matches in the round

Chelsea overcame Leicester City with a 1-0 victory in the first quarter-final of this year’s competition.

Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur and Preston North End v Stoke City will be played on Monday 27 February.
