Educational Tours

Introducing new education programmes aimed at Key Stages 2, 3 and 4.
The programmes all students to learn about what happens in a 55,000 seater stadium on match day.
Linked to the English National Curriculum and Exam Board Specifications, the education programmes delve into the multitude of job roles that happen on match day, what it takes to be a professional sportsperson and recreating the excitement of the media centre.
Led by a trained guide, school groups will be given a one-hour workshop in addition to the Stadium Tour.
Free resources are also provided to support learning before and after the visit with comprehensive lesson plans, worksheets and accompanying powerpoint slides.

Match Report
Suitable for Key Stages 2, 3 and 4, this English workshop recreates the excitement of the media centre. Children will interview themselves as if they took part in a historic, celebrated Man City match right where the professionals work on match day.

Day in the Life of a Footballer
Suitable for Key Stages 2, 3 and 4 this Science workshop follows a player from the moment they wake up on match day through to going home. We’ll touch on preparation, fitness, diet/nutrition, performance analysis, training/warm-up, wellness and what they are mentally going through before and after the whistle. Children will get a behind the scenes look into the life of a professional sportsperson!

The Stadium as a Business
Suitable for Key Stage 3 and 4, this Maths workshop explores the multitude of revenue streams, careers and roles at the stadium, showing the many commercial aspects that go alongside the big match taking place.

Urban Regeneration
Focusing on the principles of regeneration using the Etihad Campus as a case study. The presentation will tell the story of East Manchester and look at the site in detail throughout the decades, highlighting the different phases of regeneration to how the site has got to where it is today. The experience includes a tour of the site followed by a 45 minute presentation and is ideal for key stage 3 and 4, A-Level as well as university and college students studying Geography.
