Bunny Shaw and Lauren Hemp have been shortlisted for October’s Barclays WSL Player of the Month award.

The pair were central to another strong month for the reigning Barclays Women’s Super League champions, sharing nine goal contributions across our three domestic fixtures.

City claimed a 4-2 win over Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium to start October and followed that up with an exciting 3-2 triumph over Brighton & Hove Albion at the Joie Stadium.

VOTE FOR BUNNY AND LAUREN

Against the Gunners, Hemp grabbed two goals and assisted Kerstin Casparij’s stunning long-range effort to help the Blues over the line, while Shaw rounded off the scoring with a typically clinical finish.

It was a similar story against Brighton, with our dynamic duo twice combining early on as Shaw finished with two goals and Hemp two assists.

We signed off for the month with a hard-fought 1-1 draw away to Manchester United, where Shaw was once again on the scoresheet thanks to a smart turn and finish.

Shaw and Hemp are up for the award alongside Chelsea pair Melvine Malard and Ellie Carpenter, London City Lionesses’ duo Danielle van de Donk and Kadidiatou Diani, Aston Villa’s Chastity Grant and Brighton & Hove Albion’s Caitlin Hayes.

Voting closes at 11:00 (UK) on Monday 9 November, with the winner to be announced on Thursday 12 November.

Congratulations to Bunny and Lauren on being shortlisted for October’s Barclays WSL Player of the Month.
