Rayan Cherki has won the October Goal of the Month award.

The 23-year-old’s goal rounded off a memorable occasion as City made it back-to-back wins at Anfield for the first time since 1953.

The French midfield maverick produced a brilliant step over, after running onto the ball from Gvardiol, before sending Jeremie Frimpong to the shops with a dragback and then applying the finish under Alisson.

It was a stunning goal - and one that summed up a wonderful all-round display from the Blues.

Cherki saw off a fine list of contenders to win the award with Jérémy Doku’s second-half strike at Anfield coming in as runner-up with Phil Foden’s second against AEK Athens placing third.

Also up for contention were Bunny Shaw’s leveller in our 1-1 draw with Real Madrid, as well as the opener in the Manchester derby, Kerstin Casparij’s exquisite equaliser against Arsenal, Dexter Oliver’s sublime winner against Stoke, while striker Teddie Lamb also featured for a decisive finish against AEK Athens and finally Under-18s star Will Gueke was also on the list for a wonder-strike against Burnley.

Congratulations to Rayan on winning the October award.
