Andrée Jeglertz has been named the Matt Beard Manager of the Season at the 2026 North West Football Awards.

It’s the latest individual honour for the Swede following a historic 2025/26 in which he guided City to a Barclays Women’s Super League and FA Cup double.

Jeglertz was appointed Head Coach ahead of the campaign after a spell in charge of Denmark’s national team and ended a ten-year wait for the league crown in his debut campaign.

“I’m honoured and it’s a great feeling to be awarded and every individual prize is always special, but I also know that there are so many people that are behind it,” he said.

“It’s not happening without my coaching colleagues and the team and family. But of course, just standing here and receiving that award makes me proud.”

City equalled our best-ever points tally and maintained a 100% home record across the WSL season, picking up memorable wins against Chelsea and Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium in the process.

Claiming the title with a game to spare, the Blues then followed that up with a 4-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup final at Wembley to complete the most successful season in our professional history.

Those exploits saw Jeglertz claim three successive Manager of the Month awards between November and January – a WSL first – while he was also named WSL Manager of the Season.

Only Chelsea’s Sonia Bompastor has previously won the latter as a Head Coach in their first campaign at the helm, further emphasising the significant impact the Swede had on English football across his debut season.

This latest award is further recognition of that impact; named in honour of the late Matt Beard, a transformative figure in the Women’s game who passed away in September 2025.

Beard had previously managed Liverpool to back-to-back WSL titles in 2013 and 2014, also enjoying spells at Millwall, Chelsea, Boston Breakers, West Ham United and Bristol City.

Everyone at City would like to congratulate Andrée on being named Matt Beard Manager of the Season at the 2026 North West Football Awards.
