Naomi Layzell put on a WSL Player of the Match performance to help Everton earn a 0-0 draw with Manchester United.

The City loanee helped the Toffees earn their 10th point of the season as they picked up their first stalemate of 2026/27 against an in-form Manchester United side who have now gone 10 games unbeaten in all competitions.

And Layzell was a stalwart once again at centre-back at Goodison Park.

In her 90 minutes, she had 73 touches, 17 defensive contributions, 14 clearances, nine headed clearances, two interceptions and won all of her ground duels as some of the shining statistics from her performances.

She wasn’t the only Blue to register a draw with their loan club.

Lily Murphy was a late substitute as Aston Villa draw 1-1 with Arsenal at the Emirates.

The Gunners dominated possession and chances in the final third, but Murphy’s fresh legs in the last 10 minutes of the clash helped the Villans return to the West Midlands with a point.

It was a game free weekend for Codie Thomas and Nottingham Forest in the WSL 2.

Their next fixture will see them travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday 8 November.

And it was also a football-free weekend for Eve Annets and Hibernian. They now prepare for midweek football when they take on Celtic on Wednesday 4 November.
