Phil Foden has been voted the Etihad Player of the Month for April.

In a close-run poll, Foden edged out team-mates Josko Gvardiol and Kevin De Bruyne to take his third monthly prize this season.

The England playmaker has been in terrific form all campaign, but is arguably currently playing the best football of his career.

His 24 goals in 47 matches to date is a career-best seasonal haul, and he has turned in a number of stellar, match-winning displays, particularly since the turn of the year with his performance levels consistently high.

Throughout April, Foden was magnificent.

The 23-year-old stole the show in our 4-1 victory over Aston Villa with a second half hat-trick before adding a brace in our 4-0 win over Brighton saw him notch his 50th – and 51st – top-flight goals for the Club.

He also scored City’s second goal in the 3-3 draw with Real Madrid – though Pep Guardiola recently commented he believes the 23-year-old can get even better.

All in all a terrific month and a thoroughly deserved award for Blues’ No.47.
