All you need to know about our return to Premier League action against Crystal Palace...

Only Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker remain from the side that started at the London Stadium as Pep Guardiola names a largely fresh starting XI against Crystal Palace.

City: Ederson, Walker, Cancelo, Dias (c), Laporte, Rodrigo, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Grealish, Jesus, Foden

Subs: Steffen, Stones, Ake, Sterling, Gundogan, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Mahrez, Palmer

Crystal Palace: Guaita, Ward, Andersen, Guéhi, Mitchell, Gallagher, Kouyaté, McArthur, J Ayew, Édouard, Zaha

Formation: 4-3-3

Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo will flank centre-backs Aymeric Laporte and skipper Ruben Dias this afternoon, with Rodrigo anchoring a midfield that includes De Bruyne and Bernardo.

The front three of Jack Grealish, Phil Foden and Gabriel Jesus is likely to be fluid and interchangeable, but expect Grealish to start on the left, Jesus on the right and Foden as the false No.9.

“It will be an honour to see Patrick Vieira again here in Manchester. He was an important part of Arsenal’s history. What he did there was outstanding. After, I was lucky to meet him in New York.

“I’m happy he’s back at a high level in the Premier League, doing well. The last games, he played tough contenders but his team showed their quality. I am looking forward to seeing him.

“He changed the dynamics, the way Palace play. They’ve always had really good players. It will be a real test.”

City will go into the game looking to bounce back from Wednesday’s Carabao Cup fourth round exit at West Ham.

However, we are in a fine run of form in the league and are unbeaten since our opening day loss away at Tottenham.

And last weekend, Pep Guardiola’s side secured a superb 4-1 win away at Brighton and Hove Albion.

City’s four year grip on the Carabao Cup came to an end as we lost out to West Ham 5-3 in a penalty shoot-out at the London Stadium.

A tense, hard-fought game in the capital had ended goalless after 90 minutes before we went to penalties.
