Phil Foden scored his seventh goal in his last seven Premier League games as City moved back into fourth place in the Premier League with a 3-1 victory over Chelsea.

Ahead of the game, everyone inside the Etihad paid a wonderful tribute to three legends of the game, Tony Book, Bobby Kennedy and Denis Law, with a minute of applause, after they sadly passed away recently.

Pep Guardiola named new signings Omar Marmoush and Abdukodir Khusanov in the starting line up for the game, but it was the visitors who made the better start and raced into an early lead, with Noni Madueke tapping in to an empty net after just three minutes.

CITY 3-1 CHELSEA: MATCH REPORT

We worked ourselves back into the game and came close twice through Josko Gvardiol, but the defender was not to be denied on his third attempt shortly before the interval, rolling in from six yard after great work by Matheus Nunes in the build up.

With just over 20 minutes left to play under the floodlights, Ederson‘s accurate long pass found Erling Haaland, who held off Trevoh Chalobah before superbly chipping the ball over Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

Haaland then turned provider, playing through Foden, who calmly slotted in his 10th goal of the season across all competitions to propel us back into fourth place in the league table.
