David Silva: City's Mr Incredible

HEAVEN SENT: The Magician, doing what he does

HEAVEN SENT: The Magician, doing what he does

David Silva’s stats so far this season are evidence that the City playmaker is on course for one of his best season’s yet in sky blue.

Just 15 games in and Silva is already closing in on his best scoring campaign ever, with just five more goals needed to add to the seven he already has in order to equal his best haul of 12 set in 2014/15.

He is currently averaging one goal every two games for the Blues, who are already reaping the benefits of El Mago’s international retirement.

To date, he has played 361 matches for the Blues in all competitions, scoring 68 goals and creating an astonishing 118 goals for his team-mates – and nobody has created more Premier League goals since his arrival in 2010.

He’s hit the woodwork 14 times, too.

In fact, his Premier League only stats are pretty breath-taking.

Silva has 77 assists to his name in English football’s top flight. Added to his overall assists and goal tally, that means he’s cored or directly been involved in 186 goals for the Blues.

He has some way to go to catch Ryan Giggs’ 162 assists, but Cesc Fabregas on 112 is a possibility – Silva currently lies in ninth in the all-time Premier League assists lists, just three behind James Milner and David Beckham who are both tied on 80.

Silva is also a few games away from some notable Premier League stats milestones.

He needs four more passes to reach the 16,000-mark; one more big chance created, and he will have made 100 excellent scoring opportunities.

He also needs 18 more through-balls to have completed 300 eye-of-the-needle passes and oh, and he is five accurate long balls shy of 400!
