Enzo Maresca says he knows full well how valuable three points is at RB Leipzig.

Maresca’s men saw off the Bundesliga outfit 3-2 to put the Blues in seventh spot and into the automatic qualification places in the UEFA Champions League.

The victory came at the previously impenetrable Red Bull Arena, where Leipzig had clocked up five wins from five games to start the season, with no goals conceded in that quintet of matches.

The manager was thrilled with the victory because he’s acutely aware of the ferocity of both the opposition and the venue.

“I know that they are very well organised, they are doing very good in the league,” the boss told the media at his post-match press conference.

“Tonight, they showed how difficult it is play against them here.

“They are aggressive off the ball, dangerous on the ball with Brajan Gruda and Antonio Nusa. They are very good players.

“That’s why I’m happy. I know how difficult it is in this stadium.

“I’ve been here before and I know how difficult it is at this stadium to come here and win the game.”
