Loan watch: Celina scores on debut

LOAN RANGERS: How our boys are getting on across Europe
Bersant Celina scored on his debut for FC Twente to round off a memorable week for City’s Kosovan midfielder.

He bagged his first senior goal one day after his 20th birthday, dragging Twente back into their meeting with Heerenveen, but sadly for Bersant and fellow Blue loanee Yaw Yeboah their side eventually slipped to a 3-1 defeat.

Earlier last week he made a substitute appearance as Kosovo played their first competitive international fixture, a creditable 1-1 with Finland in a World Cup qualifier.

Elsewhere in the Netherlands, Brandon Barker featured for NAC Breda in the Eerste Divisie where they were held 1-1 by PSV II.

Huddersfield Town’s run at the top of the Championship continued thanks Aaron Mooy. The Australian midfielder’s goal from 25 yards gave the Terriers a 1-0 win over local rivals Leeds United in a feisty encounter at Elland Road.

The first Old Firm derby in the Scottish Premier League for four years featured a couple of ex-Blues in Joey Barton and Kolo Toure, but Patrick Roberts played in the final stages of Celtic’s 5-1 win, and picked up a booking in the process. South of the border Jason Denayer made a brief substitute appearance in Sunderland's 0-3 defeat at home to Everton.

Joe Hart made his debut for Torino in the 2-1 defeat by Atalanta in Serie A, but there was better news in Italy for Olivier Ntcham. The midfielder laid on his side’s equaliser in their eventual 3-1 win at Crotona, a result that puts Genoa second in the table after two games.

Several City players are in Spain as well, with Samir Nasri helping Sevilla to a 2-1 victory over Las Palmas. Marlos Moreno came off the bench during Deportivo La Caruna’s 1-0 loss to Athletic Bilbao.

Manu Garcia saw his Alaves side stun Barcelona with a 2-1 win at the Nou Camp, but the midfielder remained on the bench.
