Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says he is looking forward to discovering the Blues' Champions League Round of 16 opponents next Monday.

City will learn their fate as group runners-up to Barcelona when the draw takes place at approximately 11am on Monday 12 December, though the 1-1 draw with Celtic had no effect on the final standing.

ā€œI’m very happy we have qualified from a very tough group that included some excellent teams,ā€ said Pep.

ā€œTo have progressed to the next stage from a group that included Barcelona, Celtic and Borussia Monchengladbach is fantastic because we are still relatively new to this competition and these are experienced, top clubs.

ā€œWe have to win respect in the Champions League and also earn respect from other clubs and we will look forward to the draw on Monday.

ā€œI’m so happy, we played really well - the experienced players like Pablo, Bacary and Nolito helped the younger players and it was a really good game and a pleasure to play against Celtic.

ā€œIt was a good game, I’m happy and there were many chances to score so I’m pleased about that, too.ā€

City’s on-loan winger Patrick Roberts scored Celtic’s opening goal and Pep added: ā€œWe know his quality, he worked really hard and defended well and I’m so happy for him.

ā€œWe are trying to help him by allowing him the chance to play every week, which is important, and the loan is working well for both clubs.ā€
