City star with point to prove

Inspirational City goalkeeper Joe Hart has declared himself ready for a renewed assault on the Premier League.

The 27-year-old produced a world class display against Barcelona despite City’s Champions League exit at Camp Nou.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side now have a quick turn-around for the Premier League clash with West Brom at the Etihad Stadium (12.45pm).

Hart said: “We’ve got to (refocus). There are going to be tired people but we’ve got a fantastic squad here and we’ve got people.

“Stevan Jovetic didn’t even make our smaller European squad so we’re ready, we’re going to have bodies ready, I’m certainly going to be ready I know he (Milner) will be ready.

“That’s the club that we are now, our sole purpose is the Premier League and we’re going to show that on Saturday.”

City trail Premier League leaders Chelsea by six points having played a game more. Arsenal, United and Liverpool are one, two and four points behind respectively.
