Futbol con Corazon (Football with Heart)

In Colombia, homicide is the main cause of death for 15 to 24-year-olds. Cristian faced this crisis when his childhood friend was killed, and is taking action to stop the same thing happening to other young people in his community.

Teaming up with like-minded leaders in Barranquilla, he developed a solution that uses the country’s passion for football as a force to promote social harmony and to offer a path to a better life.

The Urban Football project provides safe areas for young people to play football and also a connection to mentors and role models who teach them how to avoid the daily threat of drugs and gangs.
