Water Goals

Bangalore is known as India’s Silicon Valley. Huge growth in population has led to traditional water sources drying up and becoming contaminated and, as a result, many children are at risk of contracting water borne diseases.

This not only affects their health but also keeps them out of school, which can have a detrimental impact on their education.

Combining the power of football, a clean water tower in the heart of the community and education on water and sanitation, the Water Goals project will increase access to safe water and reduce the risk of illness faced by children in disadvantaged communities across the city.

“Football is my life. Because of football, I’ve been able to get an education and do something with my life,” said Young Leader Tharun, 18

This project is delivered in partnership with Magic Bus, and generously supported by Xylem.
