Mewis: I've always wanted to go to Italy!

The UEFA Women's Champions League will see another dream realised for City star Sam Mewis...

The World Cup winner, who marked her European debut with a goal in the previous round triumph over Göteborg FC, is pleased to be facing Fiorentina in the last 16, having always wanted to go to Italy!

Previewing the Round of 32 draw back in November, the 'Tower of Power' told she always fancied visiting Italy - and now she has the chance, as City chase Champions League glory!

"I'm excited!" Mewis smiled, reflecting on Tuesday's Round of 16 draw. "I've never been to Italy.

"Getting to travel lately has been difficult for everybody so it's a really cool opportunity to get to see another part of the world.

"We'll definitely be focused on the game. We know it's a tough opponent.

"We have a lot of work to do."

Mewis also discussed her first experience of European action and her side's chances of achieving the ultimate goal: lifting the trophy in May...
