Pep Guardiola insists Kyle Walker’s consistency has been crucial to City’s success over the past four years.

Since his move from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2017 the full back has been a mainstay in Guardiola’s side, helping us claim every available domestic honour in his time at the Etihad so far.

And Walker was at his best once again in midweek, playing a major role in keeping marauding French forward Kylian Mbappe relatively quiet in our Champions League semi-final first leg victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

While Guardiola believes each and every player has played their part in our achievements to date, he also highlighted the contribution our full back has made on a regular basis across his time in Manchester.

“The level Kyle has shown with us these four years has been fantastic,” he declared.

“He’s another person who has his life calm and in order, he’s such an important player for us

“After 4 years there are moments when you can be down but last game he showed how important he is.

“He has to handle the best strikers in the world, and he can handle it, he can win the duels.

“There’s a lot of players in this period together, like Raheem, him, Ederson, many players, it cannot be possible to do it without them.

“And Kyle is an important player for us, so important.”
