Saturday's FA Women's Super League visit of Birmingham will be an emotional occasion for Aoife Mannion.
The City and England midfielder will face her former Club for the first time, following her move from Solihull to Manchester over the summer.
The centre-back spent seven years at her beloved Blues, clocking 136 appearances in all competitions. Admired for her professionalism and attitude, she became a fans' favourite and was named the supporters' Player of the Season in her final year at the Club.
During her spell, she faced City several times, including in the 2017 FA Cup and 2016 Continental Cup Finals, but will don a lighter shade of blue at the Academy Stadium when the two sides meet this weekend.
Solihull-born, Mannion is Brum-bred and reflecting on her time in the Midlands, asserts her childhood Club will always hold a special place in her heart.
