Pep Guardiola has revealed that his admiration for Hoffenheim grew after watching Julien Nagelsmann’s side take on Shakhtar Donetsk.
City take on the German outfit in the final Champions League Group F clash on Wednesday and - with a place in the knock-out rounds secured – Pep’s side have the chance to top the table if we avoid a defeat.
Pep explained how he found Hoffenheim’s recent European clash ‘fascinating’ and went on to state that he expects a tough test under the lights at the Etihad.
“We have 15 players available, so I can’t do it (rotate the squad) too much,” Pep said. “We have 15 players tomorrow and it’s a really tough game.
“We are in the next stage which is important, but we have to try and win every game - to finish first.
“They (Hoffenheim) were incredible against Shakhtar Donetsk and they lost. It was incredible and fascinating to watch as a spectator. My admiration for Hoffenheim has increased.
“I knew about Julian Nagelsmann and his team but now I realise how tough tomorrow will be.”
