Head coach Ben Wilkinson hailed City’s strength of character and togetherness after our dramatic 2-1 FA Youth Cup quarter-final win over Tottenham.

City had appeared to be heading for defeat when Tyrese Hall fired the visitors into a 61st minute lead.

But Wilkinson’s youngsters showed great character to summon up a brilliant turnaround in the final 10 minutes with Luca Fletcher first drawing us level and Jacob Wright then sealing victory with a stunning 89th minute free-kick.

“At one stage it looked like it was running away from us but once we got the equaliser, I felt we could go on and win it,” Wilkinson reflected.

“In winning at West Ham away and today we have shown real good character and good togetherness and you can see that by the way all the boys celebrated at the end. I was really pleased from that side.

“The players will take a lot from it and it’s an experience we can fall back on in the future.

“We were in the semi-finals last year and really disappointed not to get into the final.

“Its lovely to have a home game Swindon and Bristol City have both done exceptionally well this season and it will be a tough game whoever we play, and we are really pleased to get to that stage again.

“It’s a game we are all looking forward to.”
