The Young Leaders Summit is an annual football-based leadership Summit at Manchester City’s state-of-the-art training facility City Football Academy at the Etihad Campus. This year, participants were selected for their dedication to supporting young people through football during the pandemic.

Training from City in the Community coaches will equip Young Leaders with the skills and confidence to continue to use the power of football to uplift young people in their communities. Key sessions will include football-based workshops on mental health, nutrition and water education, visits to Manchester schools and the delivery of a football festival for local schoolchildren.

The event will include a new Young Leaders Awards ceremony at the Etihad Stadium, streamed live to Young Leaders, friends and family around the world in partnership with Cisco.

The Summit is the culmination of this season’s Young Leader training programme which has seen Cityzens Giving join forces with Official Technology Partner Cisco to engage a record 1,600 Young Leaders in 64 cities via live digital forums on Webex.

Cityzens Giving is an award-winning programme, supporting youth-led community football projects across the globe together with our fans, staff and partners.

Projects are run by young people for young people, with support and administrative oversight from vetted registered charity partners across the globe. In addition to long-term grant funding, Young Leaders access training in community football and leadership from our Club community coaches and networking opportunities with other projects worldwide. Each year, Cityzens Giving trains over 1,000 Young Leaders who go on to positively impact the lives of over 20,000 young people in their cities.

Manchester City would like to thank its partners Etihad Airways, Cisco, Xylem, Nexen Tire and PUMA for supporting our global network of Young Leaders this season to use football as a force for good.
