Gareth Barry

The record-holder for the most Premier League appearances, Barry played 653 times in the competition during a 22-year career in which he represented Aston Villa, Manchester City, Everton and West Bromwich Albion with distinction.

Having made his debut for Villa at 17, he spent 11 years in the Midlands before joining City for the most successful period of his career.

Playing 175 times, Barry won the FA Cup in 2011 and the Premier League a year later.

A reliable, composed and tactically astute midfielder with a knack for sniffing out danger, his understated style of play made him one of the unsung heroes of that title-winning side.

Barry won 53-caps for England and retired from the game in August 2020.
