We Stand Together

As a Manchester City player, Jade hopes her journey and achievements can show young people that, whatever their background, anything is possible. She believes that people in the community can help one another stand tall by recognising their potential and making space for future generations to follow.

For Jade, standing together means recognising that “unity is strength” and that people are stronger when they face challenges together. Black history is about honouring those who came before her by helping leave the community in a better place. Jade sees it as her responsibility to help open doors for future generations, following the example of those who fought to create opportunities for her.

Her family inspires her to stand tall. She is proud of her grandparents, who moved from Jamaica to Canada with nothing as they set out to build a better life for her father, Jade and her siblings. Her parents also taught her to treat everyone equally, with respect and love. Jade’s message to the Manchester City community is to be unapologetically yourself, let your light shine and share what you have to offer. This reflects the spirit of The Stadium Speaks: we stand taller when we stand together, honour those who came before us and help others find their place in the community.
