Hasegawa’s career has taken her from Tokyo to Milan, but it’s in Manchester where she’s blossomed into arguably the world’s best player in her position.

Yui’s been including in the PFA WSL Team of the Year in each of her three full seasons at City and was also named the Club’s Player of the Year in 2024/25.

She’s also a leading figure for her national team, helping Japan with the 2018 Asian Cup and 2025 SheBelieves Cup so far.

A quiet and unassuming character off the pitch, she’s a hugely popular and integral member of the squad who does her talking on the pitch.
