About

Rosie’s role is crucial in helping ensure our players are ready to perform at their absolute best both on and off the pitch.

She initially joined City on an imbedded PhD in 2020 after completing a BSc at Loughborough University, with a focus on the impact of the menstrual cycle in professional women’s football, before taking on her full-time role on its completion in 2024.

Rosie now leads on player monitoring and female athlete health, contributing to research and innovation initiatives having also published several articles and presented at multiple conferences.

It’s essential that studies into female athlete health continue to develop and Rosie has continued to help bridge the gap between research and applied practice by designing and implementing City’s female player strategy – essential in making sure our approach to wellbeing and performance is both holistic and, crucially, female-specific.
