The shortlist for October's Women's Etihad Player of the Month has now been confirmed.

City finished the month with an unbeaten record, picking up two wins and three draws from five difficult assignments.

We picked up two 1-1 draws against Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, while the first Manchester derby of the season also ended with the same scoreline.

Bunny Shaw

The three-time WSL Golden Boot winner has started the new season as she finished the last one.

Shaw grabbed six goals across October, finding the net in every match, including an early brace against Brighton at the Joie Stadium.

Starting the month with a clinical equaliser in our draw with Real Madrid, the Jamaican then completed the scoring in our 4-2 win over Arsenal.

VOTE FOR BUNNY

After that brace against Brighton, Shaw was on the scoresheet again when we faced Manchester United, swivelling away from her marker and rifling into the bottom corner to hand us the lead, before completing the month with a penalty against PSG.

To top it all off, she also finished third in the 2026 Ballon d’Or rankings earlier in October - the highest any female City or Afro-Caribbean player has placed in the prestigious award.

Jade Rose

A typically solid and assured month from Rose, who played every minute of a busy October for City.

The centre-back was one of the Blues’ standout performers against both Real Madrid and Arsenal, keeping the lively Felicia Schroder and Alessia Russo relatively quiet across each fixture.

VOTE FOR JADE

Similarly assured displays followed against Brighton and PSG, and she was once again at her best in the Manchester derby, standing up to the physical challenge of Elisabeth Terland with applomb.

City were unfortunate to concede late on in that clash, as a clean sheet would’ve been just rewards for one of the WSL’s finest centre-halves.

Lauren Hemp

September’s winner continues to deliver in the early stages of the season from out wide, with two goals and three assists across October.

The winger’s standout display perhaps came at the Etihad, with Hemp grabbing a brace to help City over the line against Arsenal.

Her first drew us level on the stroke of half-time, before an assured finish from a Yui Hasegawa cross put City ahead for the first time.

VOTE FOR LAUREN

Another quickfire double followed against Brighton, this time with Hemp setting up Shaw for each of her goals in another excellent display.

Time and again, she’s taken the game by the scruff of the neck and driven Andrée Jeglertz’s side on.
