In celebration of our tenth season as a professional side and the second year of our partnership with the Fold, our women’s team got together for a very special squad photo.

On 24 January 2024, City celebrated a decade of professional women’s football, marking the occasion with a 2-1 victory over Manchester United at the Joie Stadium.

Steph Houghton, the last remaining member of that original side from 2014, lined up alongside her current team-mates, which include academy graduates, established internationals and our January signings, to celebrate the momentous occasion at the City Football Academy.

Over the past decade, Gareth Taylor’s side have claimed eight major honours on the pitch, but continually strived to break new ground off it.

With the Joie Stadium becoming the first purpose-built Barclays Women’s Super League ground in 2015, City would go on to secure a commercial agreement for our home’s naming rights last year – another piece of history.

Changing our short colours from white to help players feel more comfortable while on their periods, as well as Nissan and Joie sponsorships our kit respectively are further examples of that forward-thinking outlook.

And with plans in place for a purpose-built training facility at the CFA in 2025, that desire to continue the growth of both the Club and women’s game is as strong as ever, a decade on from City becoming the first full-time team in the WSL.

The picture, which sees the team wear the Fold’s bestselling Clever Crepe suiting, first worn in March’s Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium.

The players will wear the suit once again for our final home match of the Barclays Women’s Super League season against Arsenal on Sunday 5 May.
