Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’s thunderous goal in our 4-1 victory over Liverpool has been nominated for Barclays Women’s Super League Goal of the Season.

The Jamaican’s second of the match saw her flick the ball past an oncoming defender, take a touch and unleash an unstoppable drive into the top corner from all of 25-yards at Prenton Park in March.

It extended City’s lead to three goals before the break after first-half strikes from Lauren Hemp and our clinical striker.

And she completed her hat-trick shortly after the interval when heading home a precise corner before Taylor Hinds pulled a goal back late on.

Her treble on Merseyside helped extend her tally as our all-time leading goalscorer to an eventual 72 and to the WSL Golden Boot after finishing the term on 21 league goals.

Bunny will compete against a long list of candidates, with the public vote now open.
