The Germany international has put pen to paper on a four-year deal at the Joie Stadium after impressing with German giants Bayer Leverkusen.
However, the 22-year-old feels she’s now not only joined one of Europe’s leading sides but is also ready to test herself in a new league and environment.
“The English league is the best league in the world and Manchester City is one of the best clubs in the world,” she said in her first interview as a City player.

“I feel like I need the next step for my career and I feel that I can develop as a player here very well. And I like the challenge as well, so I think it’s the perfect step for me right now to [move to] Manchester.”
Wamser has already amassed 14 international caps and experienced her first major tournament in last summer’s Euros, as Germany reached the final four.
Reflecting on that month, Wamser says the challenge of testing herself against the very best was one she relished.
“The best time of my life!” she beamed when asked about her experience at Euro 2025.
“It was really, really nice and when I think of it now, I really enjoyed the tournament and it was my first one. I think I will have this in mind forever.
“Not that we won the Euros, but I think as a team we worked very good together and it made for very much fun.”
Despite a wealth of experience beyond her years, Wamser is yet to play in the Champions League.
With Andrée Jeglertz’s Blues set to compete for the biggest prize in European club football this term, Wamser has the chance to accomplish something special again.
“It’s [been] my goal to play in the Champions League since I was a child and now with Manchester City, that’s a dream coming true,” she said.
“I hope that we achieve very much as a team and I look forward to meeting them.”
