Aemu Oyama is available for selection in Sunday’s Barclays Women’s Super League clash with Manchester United.

Gareth Taylor’s side lock horns with Marc Skinner’s on Sunday 19 January at 18:45 (UK) in what is the first meeting between the teams in 2024/25.

It’s set to be an enthralling encounter with only one point separating us in second and our cross-city rivals in fourth heading into the clash.

Ahead of the meeting, the Blues have been busy in the January transfer market, most recently securing the services of Oyama; a hugely exciting Japan youth international midfielder.

The 20-year-old was included in Goal.com’s 20 best wonderkids list at the beginning of 2022 – alongside Mary Fowler - shortly after she became the Japan top-flight’s youngest-ever scorer.

That success also translated onto the international stage where she helped her nation’s Under-16s to the AFC U16 Women’s Championship in 2019.

She then followed that triumph by helping Japan U20 to the 2022 U20 World Cup final scoring a penalty in a shootout victory over France in quarter-finals, before helping her nation finish as runners up once against in 2024.

And Oyama could potentially feature in Taylor’s matchday squad for the visit of Manchester United on Sunday – with tickets available to purchase here.

The midfielder is excited to potentially play a part in an Etihad showpiece so early in her City career.

She said: “I’m aware how enormous this game is, and I came here in time for it.  If I’m given a chance, I’d like to show my play style and contribute to my team.

“I believe the audience number is unimaginable and it’ll be a kind of environment that I can’t experience in Japan.”

General Admission tickets are still available for the latest heavyweight bout between City and United in the WSL.

Adults can purchase theirs for £15 and children’s are priced at £5 – meanwhile – a £10 Student ticket also allows you to bring a friend for just £1 extra.
