Monday Marker: Your guide to City's week ahead

All the dates, times, kick-offs, venues and TV channel information you need for Manchester City’s week ahead.

There are a host of our men’s players still on international duty in the early part of the week before they return and attention switches to our clash with Liverpool on Saturday.

Our women’s team, fresh from a brilliant 2-0 win over Barclays Women’s Super League champions Chelsea, will be gearing up for another big clash on Sunday as we travel to Continental Cup winners Arsenal. 


Niger v ALGERIA | AFCON Qualifying | 17:00 (UK)

NETHERLANDS v Gibraltar | Euro 2024 qualifying | 19:45 (UK) 

Riyad Mahrez will look to lead Algeria to a second win over Niger this week in African Cup of Nations qualifying.

Mahrez scored the all-important second on 88 minutes this past Thursday night to help Algeria defeat Niger 2-1 at Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers.

This latest encounter with Niger takes place at Hammadi Agrebi Stadium, Tunis.

Algeria are top of Group F, with a maximum nine points, Tanzania are second with four, Niger are third with two points while Uganda are bottom with one point – all from three matches.

The top two teams go through to AFCON 2023, which will be hosted by Ivory Coast for the second time.

Nathan Ake will look to bounce back with Netherlands as they take part in their second Euro 2024 qualifying game of this international window.

They lost 4-0 away at France on Friday night to leave them bottom of Group B.

Gibraltar, second from bottom, lost their opener 3-0 at home to Greece, also on Friday evening.

This game takes place at De Kuip in Rotterdam with a 19:45 (UK) kick-off.

There are several of our first team stars in action on Tuesday.

Sergio Gomez is with Spain Under-21s for their friendly with France, kick-off 17:30 (UK), while Cole Palmer and Rico Lewis are with England Under-21s for their friendly match with Croatia, with that game being held at Fulham’s Craven Cottage, kick-off 17:45 (UK).

Aymeric Laporte and Rodrigo are with Spain as they travel to joint leaders of Group A, Scotland, in Euro 2024 qualifying.

Spain beat Norway 3-0 at home in their opener at La Rosaleda, Málaga on Saturday night while on the same evening, the Scots defeated Cyprus 3-0 at Hampden Park, Glasgow.

This latest game takes place at Hampden Park, again, with a 19:45 (UK) kick-off.

Manuel Akanji is with Switzerland as they host Israel in a 19:45 (UK) kick-off at Stade de Genève, Geneva.

The Swiss are top of Group I in Euro 2024 qualifying, having defeated Belarus 5-0 away while Israel are fourth in the six-team pot after a 1-1 home draw with Kosova, both games taking place on Saturday night.

Kevin De Bruyne will look to captain Belgium again for their friendly clash in Germany.

The match takes place at RheinEnergieStadion in Cologne, with a 17:45 (UK) start.

Julian Alvarez is also ready for friendly action as Argentina take on Curacao at Estadio Único Madre de Ciudades in Santiago del Estero.

The game takes place at 21:00 (UK) as the World Cup winners look to build on their 2-0 friendly win over Panama on Thursday evening, a match Alvarez played the first 45 minutes in. 


Pep Guardiola press conference | City v Liverpool | Premier League | 13:30 (UK)

Gareth Taylor press conference | Arsenal v MCWFC | FA WSL | 14:30 (UK) 

Pep Guardiola will meet the media on Friday for his pre-Liverpool press conference.

We face Jurgen Klopp’s team on Saturday, with a 12:30 (UK) kick-off for BT Sport coverage.

Guardiola will look ahead to that game as he addresses reporters at the CFA.

The City boss will provide all the latest team news and updates which you can follow live on and our official app.

If you are unable to watch Pep’s press conference live, there is no need to panic, as both a written review and a video recap will be made available soon after.

Gareth Taylor will follow soon after, at 14:30 (UK) as he looks ahead to Sunday’s big WSL away encounter with Arsenal.

He'll be aiming to maintain momentum after this past weekend’s 2-0 win over champions Chelsea.

His pre-match press conference, like Pep's, will take place at the CFA.

Pep Guardiola faces Jurgen Klopp on Saturday as City take on Liverpool in the early kick-off.

Arsenal v City Women | Women’s Super League | 12:30 (UK) 

The week will conclude with our women’s team who travel to the face Arsenal at Meadow Park.

It’s a huge game in the WSL title race as second faces fourth. 
City beat champions Chelsea to move level with Manchester United on 38 points, only missing out on top spot on goal difference.

The Gunners, meanwhile, are fourth on 35 points, albeit with a game in hand – so this clash should be a cracker!
