It’s safe to say it’s been a memorable winter for City striker Julian Alvarez.

The 22-year-old played an influential part in ending Argentina’s 36-year wait to lift the World Cup, as the South Americans lifted the prestigious prize in Qatar in December.

Across the 2022 edition of the competition, the electric attacker proved a key component for Lionel Scaloni’s side  – scoring four goals across the tournament.

This included a brace in the 3-0 semi-final victory over Croatia as Pep Guardiola’s man ran havoc against the Europeans.

After an epic final against France, which saw Alvarez and Co reign victorious on penalties following an enthralling 3-3 draw, Argentina were met by jubilant and euphoric supporters in their homeland.

Now, he’s back at City after enjoying some well-earned downtime with the Premier League having resumed for the second half of the season.

And we documented his homecoming as he returned to the CFA last week, before featuring in our 1-1 draw with Everton on New Year’s Eve.
