New signing Jeremy Doku has revealed how Kevin De Bruyne has already reached out to help him immediately feel at home at Manchester City.

The exciting young Belgian winger has put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Treble champions joining us from French side Stade Rennais. 

He becomes our third signing of the summer following in the footsteps of Croatian duo Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol. 

Reflecting on joining the Club, Doku revealed how De Bruyne – a colleague of his at international level – had already him give him a few pointers and how KDB had also offered to help with any advice he needs as he adjusts to life at a new club and a new country.

“Yeah, of course I know Kevin. He’s now our captain also so yeah as soon as he heard about the rumours (about the move), he directly sent me a message and give me some info, (asking) if I had questions,” Doku revealed. 

“And yeah, obviously now he’s injured but he sent me a message and told me that if I have any questions and if I need him for anything, he’s there. 

“So, I was happy to hear that and it’s very nice. 

“It makes it more easier for me, but I already heard that everyone in the group is good. 

“Of course, it makes it more easy for me to join the group.” 

Recognised as one of most exciting young attacking prospects in the European game, Doku is blessed with explosive pace and sublime dribbling skills. 

And he revealed how excited he was both at the prosect of playing for City and further seeking to develop his game under the guidance of manager Pep Guardiola. 

“I’m very happy to be here. Big, big, big club, massive club, so I’m very excited and I can’t wait to start,” Doku added. 

“Like I said, I’m very excited because, with a top coach, I can only be a better player and I want to know what he can teach me to be a better player. 

“Like Kevin, Pep is also injured now but I wish him a speedy recovery and I can’t wait to see him.” 

Asked about the qualities he hoped to bring to the City squad, Doku pointed to his pace and dribbling ability. 

He added that he hoped to helped further compliment a group already blessed with an abundance of world class quality. 

“As a footballer I’m quick, I’m strong and I like to dribble, (and have good) technique. So those are my abilities I like to rely on,” Doku added. 

“Those are things that I can add to the group. Of course, the group is already a top group with a lot of top players, but I think that I can add that to the group. 

“My dribbling skills, my speed and my creativity. Those are the things that I can add.”
