Manchester City’s unbeaten home run at the Etihad Stadium stretches back to December 2022.

It was way back before Argentina won the World Cup and when the possibility of a Treble was almost unthinkable the last time City were beaten at the Etihad.

Ivan Toney’s injury time winner condemned Pep Guardiola’s side to a 2-1 defeat to Brentford on the eve of Qatar 2022 that left us five points behind leaders Arsenal.

But since returning to action six weeks later, City have remained unbeaten in 20 matches after welcoming some of the biggest sides in Europe to our home.

Check out some of the statistics covering the unbeaten period which helped us on our way to three trophies and a good start to the new season that sees us top the Premier League four games into the campaign.

Goals, goals, goals

We’ve scored an incredible 64 goals during that time at an average of just over three goals per match while we’ve conceded 11 times, around one in two matches.

RB Leipzig and Liverpool both conceded the most with seven each, with the latter beaten twice in the Carabao Cup and Premier League.

Unsurprisingly, Erling Haaland is the top scorer during the run with 22 goals from 18 appearances, ahead of Julian Alvarez with nine.

Leading the way on assists in Kevin De Bruyne with 10 from 15 appearances just one ahead of Riyad Mahrez who left in the summer.

Mahrez was also second for goal contributions with 15, behind Haaland’s total of 28 goals and assists.

Squad game

In total, 26 players have appeared for us during the streak over the last nine months.

Manuel Akanji has played the most minutes with 1,508 in total and is one of only two ever-presents from the 20 games, along with Rodrigo.

As well as that duo, Haaland, Jack Grealish, Mahrez, De Bruyne, Ederson, Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, Alvarez and former captain Ilkay Gundogan are the others to have played more than 1,000 minutes.

Record breakers

Of our unbeaten 20 home games without defeat, 19 have been wins with only Everton leaving the Etihad with a point back on New Year’s Eve 2022.

Our current winning streak of 18 victories is a Club record, beating the previous best of 16 first set in 1920/21 under manager Ernest Mangnall and equalled between April and November 2022.

And we also extended our unbeaten home run in the Champions League to 26, setting a new English record by surpassing the previous best set by Arsenal between September 2004 and April 2009.

However, we still have some way to go to claim our best ever unbeaten home record which was set at Hyde Road between 1920 and 1921 and lasted 42 matches.

Our best unbeaten run at the Etihad is 36 games which was set under Guardiola between 2017 and 2018.

The current run is only the joint 12th best in our history but if we do not lose against West Ham on Saturday 16 September, it would move into the top 10 while five unbeaten games would take into the top five.

Add four?

With our incredible success during our Treble-winning season, we have also technically been the home side for four other matches away from the Etihad, although it might be greedy to count them.

For the Wembley victories over Sheffield United and Manchester United, we were drawn first for both the semi-final and final.

City were also the ‘home’ side for the historic Champions League victory over Inter at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul and the European Super Cup against Sevilla at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Athens.

However, we were the away team for the Community Shield defeat on penalties to Arsenal at Wembley despite qualifying as both league and FA Cup winners.
