Etihad Player of the Season: Final shortlist revealed

We asked you for your vote on who should be shortlisted for the Manchester City Etihad Player of the Season award and you responded in your thousands.

And now we can reveal the final three in the running for the coveted prize, which is awarded in association with our Official Supporters Clubs.

Will it be Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva or Riyad Mahrez?

Belgian midfield talisman De Bruyne has enjoyed another stellar campaign and has proved a key component in our push to try and secure what would be a fourth Premier League title in five seasons.

Ahead of our final game of the season at home to Aston Villa on Sunday, De Bruyne has accrued 19 goals across all competitions, including 15 in the league as well as providing 13 assists all told – his highest individual goal tally since joining City in the summer of 2015.

Should De Bruyne prevail, it would also be his fourth Player of the Year award, an achievement which would see him equal Richard Dunne’s current Club record.

Mahrez meanwhile has once more cemented his status as one of City’s most potent attacking weapons.

The Algerian winger has enjoyed another magnificent campaign claiming 24 goals in total to emerge as City’s leading scorer.

Just for good measure, Mahrez has also weighed in with nine assists to further illustrate his key influence on Pep Guardiola’s team and he is now seeking his first Player of the Season prize.

Last, but most certainly not least, is Bernardo Silva who has been at his bewitching, brilliant best this season and once again reminded everyone of his superb creative talent and sublime all-round vision.

From his 49 appearances in all competitions, Bernardo has weighed in with 13 goals and contributed seven assists.

A winner of three Etihad Player of the Month awards this campaign, Bernardo is seeking to win the seasonal award for a second time.

Now it's time for you to decide which of the three should be awarded the coveted Etihad Player of the Season gong!

Voting for Stage 2 of our awards process is now open.

The three-man shortlist will see the voting start from scratch and all Cityzens who took part in Stage 1 will be able to vote again - but this time whoever polls the most votes will be crowned the Etihad Player of the Season.

Stage 2 closes at noon on 22 May with the winner announced shortly after.
