Jérémy Doku and Rayan Cherki's strikes against Liverpool have been shortlisted for October's Premier League Goal of the Month award.

The duo’s goals helped set the seal on a memorable 3-0 win at Anfield, adding to Erling Haaland’s earlier strike on Merseyside.

Doku’s goal came about after a trademark cut inside from the left flank, with the Belgian international then unleashing a sumptuous curling strike into the far top corner.

It left Liverpool stopper Alisson with absolutely no chance despite the Brazilian being at full stretch.

Enzo Maresca’s men were already on course for a rare victory at Anfield, but Cherki then added further gloss to the scoreline when finishing off a beautiful team move.

A passing sequence including Doku, Elliot Anderson and Joško Gvardiol ended with the latter backheeling the ball into the path of Cherki.

Our number ten had already played a huge part in the move with a clever dummy to release Gvardiol, before feinting away from Jeremie Frimpong and finishing under Alisson.

It was a moment of individual brilliance to cap off a typically fluid City move.

Voting closes on Monday 9 November at 12:00 (UK), with the winner announced on Friday 13 November.
