It’s already been a memorable start to the season for the attacking midfielder who made his Premier League bow for City in last month’s 5-0 win over Norwich.
And handed his first start at Under-21 level by new boss Lee Carsley in England’s opening 2023 European Under-21 Qualifying Group G assignment, Palmer gave another demonstration of his exciting potential by conjuring up a quite brilliant 26th minute goal.
Having bamboozled the Kosovo defence with an audacious Johan Cruyff style turn, Palmer then despatched home a superb left footed shot from a narrow acute angle to double England’s advantage after Rhian Brewster’s 10th minute penalty

Fellow City youngster Taylor Harwood-Bellis, who is currently on loan at Anderlecht, also made his England Under-21 bow in what was former City Under-18 head coach Carsley’s first game in charge.
And a memorable night for the Club was sealed when another City Academy graduate, Tommy Doyle – who last week joined SV Hamburger on a season-long loan - came on as a late substitute to win his maiden Under-21 cap.
