Everything you need to know about the draw for the quarter-final and semi-final of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League.

City are through to the last eight of Europe’s elite competition after eliminating FC Copenhagen in the last-16.

The European champions will continue our defence of the trophy into the quarter-finals having won all eight matches in the competition so far this term.

When is the draw?

The 2023/24 UEFA Champions League quarter-final, semi-final and final draws take place at 11:00 (UK) on Friday 15 March 2024.

How does it work?

There are no seedings and no country protection, so clubs can face opposition from the same national association and teams they previously came up against in the group stage.

The quarter-finals will be drawn first, with the team selected first to play the first leg at home.

For the semi-final draw, four balls containing slips of paper marked ‘Winners of quarter-final 1’ to ‘Winners of quarter-final 4’ are placed in a large central bowl and shuffled.

The first and second balls drawn determine the first semi-final pairing, the first ball drawn representing the home team for the first leg.

Matchday Live special

We’ll have a special edition of Matchday Live from our studio for the draw.

FG will be joined by Nedum Onuoha and Michael Brown to reflect on our Champions League campaign so far, assess the other teams left and then reflect on the draw once it’s complete.

Don’t worry if you miss it, we’ll have a news story available as soon as the draw is made as well as reaction from Nyon shortly afterwards.
