Lucy Bronze says Man City Women have an advantage ahead of their Champions League semi-final clash with Lyon.
Bronze spoke of her delight at reaching the semi-finals at the first attempt with City and insisted her side will not be overawed by their next opponents’ illustrious history.
“It feels amazing,” she declared. “It's our first go at the Champions League and we're in the semis.
“We play the current champions [Olympique Lyonnias] next. We can't wait.
“We have nothing to lose because we haven't achieved anything in the Champions League before. We want to make more history."
Reflecting on her goal – her third in European competition with the Blues – Bronze smiled: "I didn't expect to score the goal that sent us through!
“It's pretty good and winning is even better!"
The England star added she is looking forward to testing herself against one of the best sides in the world and believes City can gain a result against the French champions.
She continued: "Lyon are world-class but our starting XI is full of internationals too. If we play at our best, we can match them.
"Look at the way the Super League has improved and the players that have wanted to come here. It has done wonders for the league."
