Manchester City started 2019 in memorable fashion as we secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Premier League leaders Liverpool.

In a pulsating clash at the Etihad Stadium, Leroy Sane’s superb 72nd minute strike proved the difference after Roberto Firmino had earlier cancelled out Sergio Aguero’s first half wonder goal.

The victory moved Pep Guardiola’s men to within four points of Liverpool and was the first time Jurgen Klopp’s side had been beaten in the league this season.

The action was matched by a superb vibrant atmosphere at the Etihad with the Blues roared onto to victory and was the perfect way to kick-start the New Year.
