A smattering of winter warmers in the form of transfer rumours and speculation for you this Sunday.

Daily Star: Man City in pole position to sign Juventus star Paulo Dybala

Yes, the DS has picked up on reports in Italy that Juve’s hotshot attacker Paulo Dybala has been offered to the Blues.

“The Argentinian has scored 13 goals in 17 games this season and was linked with La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid during the summer.

“And according to Don Balon, the 23-year-old is desperate to work under City boss Pep Guardiola.

“He wants a fresh challenge after two years at Juventus and has ‘grown tired’ of interest from Spanish clubs.

“Barca had the chance to bring him in for £120m as a replacement for Neymar but chose to sign Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund instead.

“Dybala is a keen admirer of the way City have dominated the Premier League so far this season and has ambitions of joining their devastating attack.

“It would also gift him the opportunity to play alongside international team-mates Nicolas Otamendi and Sergio Aguero at club level.

“Juventus would be reluctant to break up his partnership with fellow striker Gonzalo Higuain.

“The Italian giants are currently second in Serie A, just a point behind leaders Napoli.

City are eight points clear of rivals Manchester United in second and return to action on Saturday, as they face Leicester.”

Daily Mail: Manchester City consider bid for Lyon star Mouctar Diakhaby amid interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea

Are City looking to further bolster the backline? That’s what the Mail on Sunday reckon…

Manchester City are considering a bid for Lyon defender Mouctar Diakhaby amid increasing interest from rival clubs including Chelsea.

“The 20-year-old has been watched several times by City staff including Mikel Arteta and Txiki Begiristain during Lyon’s Europa League win over Everton at Goodison Park last month.

“City are aware Lyon have interest in their own defender Eliaquim Mangala who spoke to the French club last summer.2

“Mouctar Diakhaby has been watched several times by Manchester City staff this season

“Diakhaby’s most recent appearance came for France Under 21s in their 4-1 victory over Kazakhstan, which forms part of the European Under 21 Championships.

“The 6ft 4ins defender has featured four times for Lyon in Ligue 1 this season and played the full 90 minutes as the French side beat Everton both times in the Europa League group stage.

“He only broke into Lyon’s first team last year but has already gained a reputation as a composed defender who is also an obvious threat from set-pieces.”

Express: Emre Can set for sensational move to rivals Manchester City

And finally, reports that Liverpool’s Emre Can could be crossing the Merseyside/Manchester divide next summer.

“Can’s contract situation at Liverpool is yet to be resolved with time running out for the Reds to agree to a new deal.

“The Germany international is able to leave the club on a free at the end of the season and could also be available for a cut-price fee in the New Year.

“Juventus were extremely keen on bringing the midfielder to the Italian league in the summer transfer window but failed with an offer.

“And Beppe Marotta, Juventus chief executive, has since confirmed they will not return for the German in the January transfer window.

“But, according to the Daily Star, the Serie A giants will face competition from Manchester City next summer.

“The report claims Pep Guardiola’s presence at the Etihad will prove too much for Can to turn down.

“He has been touted as the ideal replacement for Yaya Toure, who worked his way back into Guardiola’s plans last season but has played just two Premier League matches this campaign.

“Jurgen Klopp has been very vocal on his hope that Can will extend his contract at Liverpool.

“And he hinted earlier this month that negotiations could run until the very last minute.

“Klopp said: “It’s allowed that he could sign a contract with us in May. I have no problem with that.”
