Good morning, Blues! A momentous day awaits us here at the CFA, with badges, kits and a certain Pep Guardiola sure to be at the forefront of City minds.

However, the fabled transfer rumour mill stops for nothing and this is the place to be if you fancy starting your Sunday with a dose of summer speculation.

Earlier this week, Nolito became the second signing of the Guardiola era and reports suggest the new boss intends to continue his spending in La Liga.

The Mirror believe Pep will return to Spain in order to capture the signatures of Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos – who he worked with at Bayern Munich – and Barcelona’s Luis Suarez.

Writes Tom Hopkinson: “City are keen [on Kroos] and have asked Madrid whether or not a deal can be done. The player is understood to be happy in Spain but the opportunity to link back up with Guardiola appeals to him, as does a switch to the Premier League.

“Guardiola is also desperate to land former Liverpool bad boy Suarez from Barcelona and has been trying to persuade him to come back to England for months.

“The 29-year-old, represented by Guardiola’s brother Pere, would cost around £85m, £20m more than Barca paid for him in 2014.

“Suarez is understood to be open to the move but the key could be in persuading his wife and family to leave Spain.”

Elsewhere, the Express report the delightfully named Geronimo Rulli could be in line for a move to Manchester, from Uruguayan club Deportivo Maldonado.

They report: “City boss Pep Guardiola wants the 24-year-old Argentinian, who has spent the past two seasons with Real Sociedad in Spain, to provide competition for under-fire England number one Joe Hart.”

Today’s media round-up concludes with a name which has become increasingly familiar to City fans. Torino’s Bruno Peres is once again linked with the Blues, in this morning’s Daily Star.

Steve Millar explains: “Brazilian Peres, who was signed from Santos for just £1m two years ago, has been identified as a ready-made replacement for Zabaleta.

“City have monitored Peres, 26 – a right-back who can also play on the wing – since his arrival in Serie A and reports in Italy say Torino have rejected a £13m bid.

“Watford, Roma and PSG are showing interest too but City remain favourites.”

That’s it on day that is surely only going to get more exciting as the hours pass. Stay tuned for all the latest happenings from Cityzens Weekend and remember to share your thoughts by tweeting us @ManCity.
