Loan watch: Ibrahim off the mark in Norway
Abdisalam Ibrahim scores his first goal for Stromsgodset, while Wayne Bridge’s Brighton sit top of the Championship.

Ibrahim, who is on loan to Norwegian outfit Stromsgodset until 31st December, scored in the 3-2 defeat to Viking in the Eliteserien on Friday night.

It was the 56th minute when Abdisalam rose to meet a cross with a powerful header to level the game at one apiece. It was the rangy midfielder’s first goal in his fifth appearance in all competitions but it wasn’t enough to stop his team relinquishing top spot in the league.

Elsewhere, Reece Wabara completed 90 minutes for third consecutive match but Paul Dickov’s Oldham Athletic were unable to register a second win of the season. They lie in 19th place in League One.

Reece took to Twitter shortly after the match and reassured Latics fans that he would continue to give everything for the cause.

"Thanks for all the comments means a lot! And I will continue to give my all! Results are just around the corner promise #OAFC"

Wayne Bridge’s Brighton continued their impressive start to the season, climbing to the top of the Championship with a 2-1 away win against Millwall. The 32-year old played all 90 minutes of the match for Gus Poyet’s side.

The Seagulls are now two points clear of Huddersfield at the table summit and are next in action against Birmingham in Saturday’s late kick-off.

Paraguayan striker Roque Santa Cruz was introduced in place of Javier Saviola in the 57th minute for Malaga but wasn’t able to break the deadlock against Athletic Bilbao as the game petered out to a 0-0 draw. They dropped to third in La Liga but kept their unbeaten record in the process.

Omar Elabdellaoui, Mohammed Abu, Ryan McGivern and Dedryck Boyata were all unused substitutes for their respective clubs.
