Loan watch: Razak glad to answer Seagulls call
Abdul Razak is loving loan life on the Sussex coast as the young Blues prospect helps Brighton's bid for promotion to the Barclays Premier League.

Seagulls fans have taken to the 19-year-old midfielder as well, and he received a warm ovation for his Championship debut in the 2-2 draw with rivals Cardiff at the Amex Stadium.

Razak, who played in City's Carling Cup ties against Birmingham and Wolves earlier this season, said: "I'm enjoying it, I like the way that Brighton play their football.

"The Premier League is different. When you play in the Championship, you feel like you have to learn how to attack your man more.

"It can be difficult to show what you can do out on the pitch. But my first game was good for me.

I really enjoyed it, the pitch was good and our players like to pass the ball about. I feel at home here

Canny manager Gus Poyet, who led Brighton to the League One title last May, has also recruited City team-mate Gai Assulin on loan to bolster the bid for back-to-back promotions.

Razak said: "The manager is good. He knows what I can do and he's helping me. He tells me to track my man, things like that. I'm learning from him, that's why I've come here.

"I need to learn more and adapt to the way Brighton play. I want to score goals for the club as well, so I'm happy to get chances."

The only cloud in the Ivorian's sky is Portsmouth's decline into administration, having spent a month on loan at Fratton Park at the end of last year.

He admitted: "I'm really sad for Pompey, it's not easy for them. I hope they can come back well and develop the club again."

Thanks to Brighton and Hove Albion for the cracking video. Good luck, lads!
