Riyad Mahrez labelled Sergio Aguero a 'legend' after the Argentine set two new Premier League records in our 6-1 win at Aston Villa.

Aguero moved ahead of Thierry Henry to become the league’s leading all-time overseas goalscorer with the second of his three strikes against Villa, and he completed his twelfth Premier League hat-trick late on in the game to move ahead of Alan Shearer as the division’s record treble king.

The Algerian winger, who bagged the opening two goals in the 6-1 victory at Villa Park, says the City striker is one of the greatest he has ever played with.

“We try to pass to each other and try to give each other more chances to score - and that’s what this team is all about,” said Mahrez.

“The stats speak for themselves. He’s a legend for the club and Premier League.

“He shows it every week and I’m very happy to have him in the team.

“He has a lot of quality but he doesn’t need a lot of chances to score, so that shows how big a striker he is.”
